Purpose
A robust proof that initiatives are being monitored and reviewed successfully is becoming more and more demanded by multilateral organizations, funding organizations, and boards of private corporations. Effective project monitoring ensures that projects are carried out as planned and changed as necessary while enabling a project team to make appropriate decisions on a daily basis.
A pre-planned sequence of actions and occurrences serves as the foundation for successful programs and projects. But rarely do things go according to plan. In order to make timely adjustments when necessary and later assess the degree to which the program or project achieved its goals, managers must routinely monitor a set of indicators and measure performance during execution.
